Family route

This route puts short transfers, open spaces and regular breaks first. It avoids the long climbs and the narrowest lanes of the upper medina, tricky with a stroller. The goal isn't to see everything but to keep everyone, adults and children, in good energy until evening. Depending on the children's age, you can shorten freely.

In summer, midday heat is real: pack hats, water and take a shaded break between 1 and 4pm. The Corniche pavement is wide and stroller-friendly, but several medina streets are cobbled and steep. At crossings near Boulevard Pasteur and the Corniche, traffic is heavy: always hold small children and wait for a real gap. Public toilets are rare; use café and museum toilets.

If energy drops, keep just two blocks: the Corniche for a walk beside the water and the Marina for dinner facing the boats. Both areas are flat, safe and easy to reach by petit taxi. You can skip the medina and save it for another day rather than entering at the end with tired children.

Bring simple snacks the children already like, alongside restaurants: it isn't always easy to find the right break at the right moment, especially between meals. Fresh juices at Grand Socco and morning pancakes in cafés work well. For nappies, wipes and baby food, pharmacies and small shops in the centre carry them, but brands may differ from what you know: pack a reserve for the first two days.
