The Corniche, Tangier's seafront
The Corniche is Tangier's great seafront promenade. It follows the whole bay, from Tanja Marina Bay and the port — west, below the medina — to the Malabata district in the east. The port–Marina stretch is only its western end. Palm trees, cafés and modern hotels line the way. This is where locals walk, jog and meet at the end of the day, facing the strait and the Spanish coast.
What to do on the Corniche
- Walk end to end to feel the city from the sea.
- Sit at a terrace for mint tea or a fresh juice.
- Enjoy sunset over the strait — one of the coast's most beautiful.
- Photograph the boats, ferries and the medina skyline above.
How to combine it
- With the Marina: extend the walk to the pontoons and restaurants.

Tanja Marina Bay

- On foot from the Corniche: 10–20 minutes depending on where you start (longer from Malabata).
- Great late afternoon for a coffee or dinner facing the boats.
