An overview of transport in Tangier for visitors. Watch for slopes and cobblestones. • Petit taxi (blue): best for short trips in town — see Taxi tips. • Grand taxi: for longer trips or out-of-town (Cap Spartel, Tangier Med, beaches). • City buses: possible but mostly used by locals. • Train: to arrive or leave via Tanger Ville station (Al Boraq). • Plane: Ibn Battouta airport, 15 km west. • Ferry: depending on your ticket, arrival at Tangier City port (downtown) or Tangier Med (45 km east). Frequently asked questions

Walking works very well in the medina, around Petit Socco, Grand Socco and the Kasbah. For the rest of the city, the blue petit taxis are the easiest option.
