Medina and souks: • Keep phone and wallet secure; bag closed and in front of you in crowds. • Politely decline pushy unofficial guides. • Agree on the price before any purchase or service. Beaches, Corniche and evenings: • Avoid flashing valuables, jewellery or large cash amounts. • To return late, prefer a petit taxi over a long walk. • In a group or with family, stick to busy streets in the evening. Women travelling solo: • Most stays go smoothly — feel free to ignore unwanted attention. • Dress as you wish while keeping the local context in mind.
