Photo Tanger 2026 brings exhibitions, photography, film and cultural events to venues across Tangier until 31 August, under the theme “L'Appel du large”.

Photo Tanger celebrates its very first edition in 2026 as a major international festival devoted to the image and photography in Tangier. It opened at the Galerie Mohamed Drissi and runs until 31 August 2026.

Under the theme “L'Appel du large”, the programme brings together photography exhibitions, screenings, talks, cultural events and workshops spread across different venues in the city. All summer long, Tangier becomes a cultural trail through galleries, museums, cultural centres and public spaces.

Announced participating venues: Galerie Mohamed Drissi, Villa Harris, Palais des Arts et de la Culture, Institut Français de Tanger, Instituto Cervantes de Tánger, Cinéma Alcazar, Tanja Marina Bay, the Fondation pour la photographie, the Librairie des Colonnes and Les Insolites.

Exhibitions and highlights to look out for: “L'Appel du large”, “Tanger, pourquoi Tanger ?”, “Waiting for Magellan”, “El Mar que Somos”, “Regards des photographes marocains du monde” and “Slow Up – Ralentir”.

Before you go: the programme is spread over several venues and some exhibitions may keep different opening hours. Check the updated programme before you travel. We do not claim that every activity is free — that varies by venue and is not confirmed overall.

How to get there

In town, a petit taxi (blue, on the meter) is simplest. For sites outside the centre such as Cap Spartel, take a grand taxi and agree the price before leaving.

The exact venue is not confirmed by the official source yet, so we do not show an approximate location.
